Treatment of Major Depressive Order and Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) Using Generic Wellbutrin Tablets

What is Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)?

Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)
Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) (also known as clinical depression, major depression, unipolar depression, or unipolar disorder; or as recurrent depression in the case of repeated episodes) is a mental disorder characterized by a pervasive and persistent low mood that is accompanied by low self-esteem and by a loss of interest or pleasure in normally enjoyable activities.

It is believed that chemical changes in the brain are responsible. This mental disorder may be due to a problem with your genes. Major depressive disorder can also be triggered by stressful events in a person's life. These may include:
  • Job Loss
  • Failing a class
  • Divorce or Separation
  • Death of a Spouse
  • Death or illness of a friend or family member
  • Certain medicines, such as steroids
  • Physical or Emotional Abuse
  • Social Isolation
More likely, it is a combination of both.

People with major depressive disorder tend to have a distorted view of their lives in which a negative attitude makes it difficult for them to imagine how problems or situations may be resolved in a positive way. Symptoms may also include:
  • Irritability
  • difficulty with concentration
  • fatigue or lack of energy
  • feelings of hopelessness and/or helplessness
  • feelings of worthlessness, guilt, or self-hate
  • social isolation
  • loss of interest in once pleasurable activities
  • sleep problems (insomnia or excessive sleeping)
  • dramatic changes in appetite along with corresponding weight loss or gain
  • suicidal ideation or behavior
Major depressive disorder is a disabling condition that adversely affects a person's family, work or school life, sleeping and eating habits, and general health.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)
Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), also known as winter depression, winter blues, summer depression, summer blues, or seasonal depression, was considered a mood disorder in which people who have normal mental health throughout most of the year experience depressive symptoms in the winter or summer. Usually the dull atmosphere and lack of sunlight affects biological rhythm of the people and precipitates underlying mood disorders, making them prone to depression.

Symptoms of SAD may consist of difficulty waking up in the morning, nausea, tendency to oversleep and over eat, especially a craving for carbohydrates, which leads to weight gain. Other symptoms include a lack of energy, difficulty concentrating on or completing tasks, withdrawal from friends, family, and social activities, and decreased sex drive. All of this leads to depression, pessimistic feelings of hopelessness, and lack of pleasure which characterize a person suffering from this disorder.
