Treatment of Fungal or Yeast Infections with Generic Diflucan Tablets

What is a Fungal or Yeast Infection?

Fungal infections of the skin are very common and include athlete's foot, jock itch, ringworm, and yeast infections. Candidiasis or thrush is a fungal infection (mycosis) of any of the Candida species (all yeasts), of which Candida albicans is the most common. Also commonly referred to as a yeast infection, candidiasis is also technically known as candidosis, moniliasis, and oidiomycosis. Candidiasis encompasses infections that range from superficial, such as oral thrush and vaginitis, to systemic and potentially life-threatening diseases.
Most of the yeast infections caused by Candida result in minimal complications such as redness, itching and discomfort, though complications may be severe or fatal if left untreated in certain populations. In immunocompetent persons, candidiasis is usually a very localized infection of the skin or mucosal membranes, including the oral cavity (thrush), the pharynx or esophagus, the gastrointestinal tract, the urinary bladder, or the genitalia (vagina, penis).
Infection of the vagina or vulva may cause severe itching, burning, soreness, irritation, and a whitish or whitish-gray cottage cheese-like discharge, often with a curd-like appearance. Symptoms of infection of the male genitalia include red, patchy sores near the head of the penis or on the foreskin, severe itching, or a burning sensation. Candidiasis of the penis can also have a white discharge, although uncommon.

Causes of Yeast Infection

Candida yeasts are commonly present in humans, and their growth is normally limited by the human immune system and by other microorganisms, such as bacteria occupying the same locations in the human body.
A weakened or undeveloped immune system or metabolic illnesses such as diabetes are significant predisposing factors of candidiasis. Diseases or conditions linked to candidiasis include HIV/AIDS, mononucleosis, cancer treatments, steroids, stress, and nutrient deficiency. Almost 15% of people with weakened immune systems develop a systemic illness caused by Candida species.
In penile candidiasis, the causes include sexual intercourse with an infected individual, low immunity, antibiotics, and diabetes. Male genital yeast infections are less common, and incidences of infection are only a fraction of those in women; however, yeast infection on the penis from direct contact via sexual intercourse with an infected partner is not uncommon.

Generic Diflucan Tablets (Forcan) – Product Information

Generic Diflucan (Forcan Tablets) is used to treat certain fungal and yeast infections. It works by preventing the growth of the fungal and yeast organisms causing your infection. Treatment of Parkinson's Disease and Symptoms Using Generic Sinemet Tablets

What is Parkinson's Disease?

Parkinson's Disease is a progressive, neurodegenerative disorder of the extrapyramidal nervous system affecting the mobility and control of the skeletal muscular system. Its characteristic features include resting tremor, rigidity, and bradykinetic movements.
Parkinson's disease affects movement, producing motor symptoms. Non-motor symptoms such as autonomic dysfunction, neuropsychiatric problems (mood, cognition, behavior or thought alterations), and sensory and sleep difficulties, are also common.
Nerve cells use a brain chemical called dopamine to help control muscle movement. Parkinson's disease occurs when the nerve cells in the brain that make dopamine are slowly destroyed. Levodopa crosses the protective blood–brain barrier, whereas dopamine itself cannot. Once Levodopa has entered the central nervous system, it is converted to dopamine via the action of a naturally occurring enzyme called DOPA decarboxylase (DDC). Generic Sinemet (Syndopa), manufactured by Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. is a combination of carbidopa and levodopa and is used to treat Parkinson's disease. Use of carbidopa also increases the quantity of Levodopa in the bloodstream that is available to enter the brain.

Generic Sinemet (Syndopa Tablets) – Product Information

Generic Sinemet (Syndopa Tablets) is used in the treatment of the symptoms of Parkinson's disease, postencephalitic parkinsonism, and symptomatic parkinsonism (parkinsonism-like symptoms) which may follow injury to the nervous system by carbon monoxide intoxication and/or manganese intoxication. Generic Sinemet is indicated in these conditions to permit the administration of lower doses of levodopa with reduced nausea and vomiting, with more rapid dosage titration, with a somewhat smoother response, and with supplemental pyridoxine (vitamin B6).

Generic Sinemet Tablets - Active Ingredients

The active ingredient present in Generic Sinemet Tablets (Syndopa Tablets) is Carbidopa and Levodopa. Generic Sinemet (Syndopa Tablets) is supplied as tablets in four strengths:
Syndopa 110 mg (Levodopa 100mg & Carbidopa 10mg) or Generic Sinemet 10-100
Syndopa 125 mg (Levodopa 100mg & Carbidopa 25mg) or Generic Sinemet 25-100
Syndopa 250 mg (Levodopa 200mg & Carbidopa 50mg) or Generic Sinemet 50-250
Syndopa 275 mg (Levodopa 250mg & Carbidopa 25mg) or Generic Sinemet 25-250

Generic Sinemet Tablets - Contraindications

Generic Sinemet is contraindicated in patients that have a hypersensitivity to Carbidopa or Levodopa or any inactive component of this drug, and in patients with narrow-angle glaucoma. Because levodopa may activate a malignant melanoma, Generic Sinemet should not be used in patients with suspicious, undiagnosed skin lesions or a history of melanoma.
Nonselective monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors are contraindicated for use with Generic Sinemet. These inhibitors must be discontinued at least two weeks prior to initiating therapy with Generic Sinemet.

Generic Sinemet (Syndopa Tablets) - Storage Instructions

Keep in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. Keep your tablets at room temperature in a cool dry place where the temperature stays below 30°C . Keep away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed.

Treatment of Gastroparesis, Nausea and Vomiting Using Motilium Tablets

What is Gastroparesis?

Gastroparesis, also called delayed gastric emptying, is a disorder that slows or stops the movement of food from the stomach to the small intestine. Normally, the muscles of the stomach, which are controlled by the vagus nerve, contract to break up food and move it through the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Gastroparesis can occur when the vagus nerve is damaged by illness or injury and the stomach muscles stop working normally.

Causes of Gastroparesis

The cause of Gastroparesis for most people diagnosed with gastroparesis cannot be determined (idiopathic gastroparesis). Diabetes is the most common known cause of gastroparesis. High blood glucose levels can damage the vagus nerve. Other causes of gastroparesis include intestinal surgery and nervous system diseases such as Parkinson's disease or multiple sclerosis.

Symptoms of Gastroparesis

The most common symptoms of gastroparesis are chronic nausea, vomiting (especially of undigested food) and early satiety. Other symptoms may include palpitations, heartburn, abdominal pain, abdominal bloating, erratic blood glucose levels, lack of appetite, gastroesophageal reflux and spasms of the stomach wall. Morning nausea may also indicate gastroparesis.

Motilium Tablets – Product Information

Motilium Tablets manufactured by Johnson&Johnson are indicated for the short-term treatment in adults of symptoms associated with idiopathic or diabetic gastroparesis . They are also used to treat intractable nausea and vomiting from any cause.
In the case of diabetic gastroparesis, as soon as control of diabetes has been established by diet and/or insulin, an attempt should be made to discontinue Motilium therapy. The active pharmaceutical ingredient present in Motilium Tablets is Domperidone.

Motilium Tablets - Contraindications

Motilium is contraindicated in patients that have hypersensitivity to Domperidone or any inactive component of this medicine. It is also contraindicated in in those patients with a prolactin-releasing pituitary tumour (prolactinoma). Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)
Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) (also known as clinical depression, major depression, unipolar depression, or unipolar disorder; or as recurrent depression in the case of repeated episodes) is a mental disorder characterized by a pervasive and persistent low mood that is accompanied by low self-esteem and by a loss of interest or pleasure in normally enjoyable activities.

It is believed that chemical changes in the brain are responsible. This mental disorder may be due to a problem with your genes. Major depressive disorder can also be triggered by stressful events in a person's life. These may include:
  • Job Loss
  • Failing a class
  • Divorce or Separation
  • Death of a Spouse
  • Death or illness of a friend or family member
  • Certain medicines, such as steroids
  • Physical or Emotional Abuse
  • Social Isolation
More likely, it is a combination of both.

People with major depressive disorder tend to have a distorted view of their lives in which a negative attitude makes it difficult for them to imagine how problems or situations may be resolved in a positive way. Symptoms may also include:
  • Irritability
  • difficulty with concentration
  • fatigue or lack of energy

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Symptoms of SAD may consist of difficulty waking up in the morning, nausea, tendency to oversleep and over eat, especially a craving for carbohydrates, which leads to weight gain. Other symptoms include a lack of energy, difficulty concentrating on or completing tasks, withdrawal from friends, family, and social activities, and decreased sex drive.
