Generic Abilify Tablets – Product Information

Generic Abilify which is used to treat schizophrenia, Bipolar I disorder and major depressive disorder is available as Asprito Tablets.
Asprito Tablets (Aripiprazole Tablets) manufactured by Intas Pharmaceuticals Ltd., India is approved by the Indian FDA. In addition , the active ingredient Aripiprazole is approved by the US FDA.

Generic Abilify Tablets - Contraindications

Generic Abilify tablets is contraindicated for patients with a hypersensitivity to aripiprazole or any other ingredient present in Generic Abilify tablets . Hypersensitive reactions have ranged from pruritus/urticaria to anaphylaxis.

Generic Abilify Tablets - Dosage

The recommended adult Oral dosage of Generic for adults is given below:
The recommended dosage for the treatment of Schizophrenia in adults is 10-15 mg/day with an initial dosage of 10-15 mg/day and a maximum of 30 mg/day.
For Bipolar mania in adults: In case of Generic Abilify Monotherapy the initial dosage is 15 mg/day, the recommended dosage is 15 mg/day and the maximum dosage 30 mg/day. In case Generic Abilify tablets are used as an adjunct to lithium or valproate the initial dose is 10-15 mg/day, the recommended dose is 15 mg/day with the maximum dose being 30 mg/day
The recommended dosage of Aripiprazole Tablets for the treatment of major depressive disorder in adults as an adjunct to antidepressants is 5-10 mg/day with the starting dose as 2-5 mg/day and the maximum dose being 15 mg/day.

Side Effects of Abilify Tablets

The most common side effects reported in patients treated with with an incidence rate of 5% or more and at least twice that for placebo:
Adult patients with schizophrenia: akathisia
Adult patients (monotherapy) with bipolar mania: akathisia, sedation, restlessness, tremor, and extrapyramidal disorder
Adult patients (adjunctive therapy with lithium or valproate) with bipolar mania: akathisia, insomnia, and extrapyramidal disorder
Adult patients with major depressive disorder (adjunctive treatment to antidepressant therapy): akathisia, restlessness, insomnia, constipation, fatigue and blurred vision
Adult patients with agitation associated with schizophrenia or bipolar mania: nausea

Treatment of Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder using Generic Seroquel

Generic Seroquel (Q-Mind Tablets) - Product Information

Generic Seroquel is an atypical antipsychotic which is used for the treatment of schizophrenia in adults and adolescents of ages 13 to 17 years. It is also used for Acute treatment of manic episodes associated with bipolar I disorder, in adults, children and adolescents between the ages 10 to 17.
Generic Seroquel (Q-Mind Tablets) is also useful for acute treatment of depressive episodes associated with bipolar disorder and maintenance treatment of bipolar disorder as an adjunct to lithium or divalproex in adults only.
The active ingredient in Q-Mind Tablets is Quetiapine Fumarate. Quetiapine Fumarate is an antipsychotic agent, which is white to off-white crystalline powder which is moderately soluble in water. Tablets are available in strengths of 25 mg, 100 mg, 200 mg and 300 mg.

Generic Seroquel Tablets - Contraindications

Generic Seroquel is contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to Quetiapine Fumarate or any other component of this product.

Generic Seroquel - Dosage

Generic Seroquel can be taken with or without food. The recommended dosage varies as per the indication being treated and is individualised. For the treatment of Schizophrenia in Adults, Generic Seroquel should generally be administered with an initial dose of 25 mg twice daily, with increases in total daily dose of 25 mg to 50 mg divided in two or three doses on the second and third day, as tolerated, to a total dose range of 300 mg to 400 mg daily by the fourth day.
For the treatment of Bipolar Mania in Adults, the recommended dosage of Generic Seroquel Monotherapy or along with lithium or divalproex is as follows:
Day 1: Twice daily dosing totaling 100 mg.
Day 2: Twice daily dosing totaling 200 mg.
Day 3: Twice daily dosing totaling 300 mg
Day 4: Twice daily dosing totaling 400 mg. Further dosage adjustments up to 800 mg/day by Day 6 should be in increments of no greater than 200 mg/day

Side Effects of Generic Seroquel (Q-Mind Tablets)

The most common side effects of Generic Seroquel Tablets observed in adults are drowsiness, somnolence, dry mouth, dizziness, constipation, asthenia, abdominal pain, postural hypotension, pharyngitis, elevations in serum triglyceride levels, elevations in total cholesterol, weight gain, decreased haemoglobin, lethargy, extrapyramidal symptoms and dyspepsia.

Overdosage

During clinical trials, survival has been reported in acute overdoses of up to 30 grams of Quetiapine Fumarate and a death has been reported in a clinical trial following an overdose of 13.6 grams of Quetiapine Fumarate alone. Most patients who overdosed reported no adverse events or recovered fully.
