Generic Sinemet CR Tablets (Syndopa CR Tablets) – Product Information

Generic Sinemet CR Tablets (Syndopa CR Tablets) is used for the treatment of the symptoms of idiopathic Parkinson's disease (paralysis agitans), postencephalitic parkinsonism, and symptomatic parkinsonism which may follow injury to the nervous system by carbon monoxide intoxication and/or manganese intoxication.
The active ingredients present in Syndopa CR Tablets is Levodopa and Carbidopa.
Levodopa and Carbidopa tablets are marketed under trade names such as Sinemet, Syndopa, Pharmacopa, Atamet, Co-careldopa, Apo-Levocarb, and Levocarb.

Dosage And Administration

Swallow Generic Sinemet CR tablets whole, with a glass of water. Generic Sinemet CR comes as an oral tablet in 125 mg (Levodopa 100mg & Carbidopa 25mg) and 250 (Levodopa 200mg & Carbidopa 50mg) dosage forms. The recommended adult Oral dosage of Generic Sinemet CR (Syndopa CR Tablets) for adults is given below:
Patients Without Prior Levodopa Therapy:
Generic Sinemet CR 100/25 may be used in early stage patients who have not had prior levodopa therapy or to facilitate titration when necessary in patients receiving Syndopa CR 200/50.
The initial recommended dose is 1 tablet of Syndopa CR 100/25 twice daily.
For patients who require more levodopa, a daily dose of 1 to 4 tablets of Syndopa CR 100/25 twice a day is generally well tolerated.
Treatment with Syndopa CR 200/50 in Adults
When appropriate, Levodopa therapy may also be initiated with Syndopa CR 200/50.
In early stage patients who have not had prior levodopa therapy, the initial recommended dose is one tablet of Sinemet CR 50/200 once daily.
The initial recommended dose in patients with mild to moderate disease is 1 tablet of Syndopa CR 200/50 two times daily.
Initial dosages should not exceed 600 mg per day of Levodopa or be given at intervals of less than 6 hours.

Side Effects of Generic Sinemet CR Tablets

The side effects of Generic Sinemet CR (Syndopa CR) include abnormal uncontrolled movements, which may or may not resemble your Parkinson's symptoms, feeling sick (also called nausea), vomiting, loss of appetite, dizziness, light-headedness when standing quickly, dry mouth, dark saliva, dream abnormalities, sleeping difficulty, sleepiness or sudden onset of sleep, weakness and confusion.
